Koolaid Drinkers Unite

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Jim Jones was an infamous preacher who lived in Africa.  He convinced his congregation that if they killed themselves that they would go to heaven.  So they drank some koolaid laced with poison and died.

Today we have koolaid drinkers who believe that socialism, big government, and less freedom is the optimal way to organize a society.  They believe this for two reasons.  First, they want to control other people.  They believe they are smarter than the average dope and therefore they should make choices for them.  Second, they have been mislead by decades of propaganda and lies that taught them that freedom and free markets were inferior to government control and planning.  This should come as no surprise to anyone.  The government is just like any other business.  It wants to survive and grow and in order to do so, it must convince people that it is not the problem, but it is the answer.  It has done a masterful job of lying to the people about its involvement in the economic recessions and depressions of the past.

Those who aspire to power naturally fall into the first category.  These are your politicians from both parties, both Democrat and Republican who wish to grow government.  The masses generally fall into the latter category.  They know not where to find truth, so they believe what they see or hear on TV and radio and in the classroom.  The government controls the message to a large extent that is spread in the classroom.  The media is full of people who are minions of the belief that government is good and that government needs to monitor and regulate freedom.  Of course, when the government regulates freedom, like it has in the USA now, there is no longer any freedom.  That is the irony of it all.

Feel free to leave your thoughts about your favorite koolaid drinking moment, article, speech or whatever that you have run across.  It’s time that those who hate the koolaid started uniting, so why not unite on a site dedicated to all those koolaid drinkers and their koolaid drinking moments.
